Nicki F. Gaskins, M.Ed. LPSC, LCMHC

Nicki Gaskins is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor Candidate in South Carolina and holds a LCMHC in North Carolina. With a Masters of Education degree in Counseling and Development and a Masters Certificate in School Counseling, she completed her graduate work at Winthrop University in Rock Hill. Nicki attended undergraduate school at Florida State University with a major in English and a minor in Art. She is Certified Dare to LeadTM trained and a highly sought after national/regional speaker & trainer.

Prior to entering the field of counseling, Nicki excelled in the education and real estate industries in many capacities such as educating, corporate training, management and sales and marketing. In addition, she has spent years in the community pursuing different volunteer endeavors to impact the world for change. She has professional counseling experience working with children and adolescents in play therapy, in acute care facilities, being employed as a School Counselor, and has extensive group work experience with clients of all ages and presenting problems, such as substance abuse, mental health disorders, and comorbidity.

Nicki takes an inspired approach to therapy, using art and creative interventions in her work, whenever appropriate. She is passionate about the family system and believes it is her calling to support the client as they process their own family system and the familial, generational impact going forward. She incorporates EMDR, Trauma focused, Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Dialectic Behavioral Theory, play therapy, and art therapy into her practice. Of most importance is the therapist and client working relationship and Nicki celebrates the opportunity to work with her clients through empathy, respect, multicultural awareness, open mindedness, and goal achievement, considering community resources and supports as well.
